Urge timer
Ride out cravings with a paced-breath countdown.
Harness helps you track clean time, ride out cravings when they hit, and build your own recovery on your own terms. The count survives a slip, and nothing in the app grades you for it.
The urge tool
When a craving hits, you don't have an hour - you have a moment. The Steady tab is built for that moment: an urge-surf timer that guides you through the wave with paced breathing, grounding exercises, and your own reasons to hold on. It's the same evidence-based toolkit used in CBT and SMART Recovery, in your pocket, always free.
A guided timer that lets the craving peak and pass. Based on the principle that urges last minutes, not hours.
Sense anchoring that pulls you out of craving-mind and back to the present.
A prompt to walk through what actually happens next if you give in - without shame, just clarity.
Gating help in a crisis would be wrong. Steady is free forever, no upgrade needed.
Clean time
The Clean tab shows your exact clean time to the second, your current and next milestone, what you've reclaimed - money, hours, health - and a quiet, always-available reset that doesn't punish you for slipping.
Shame-free recovery
Relapse is part of recovery, not the end of it. Harness never calls your clean time a "streak." When you reset, it walks you through a calm debrief (AI-assisted in Pro), logs what happened without judgment, and starts the clock again.
Patterns
Log urges, moods and triggers without shame. Over time Harness surfaces the shape underneath - your hardest time of day, your most common trigger, how often you ride it out - so you can prepare instead of react.
Progress
Milestones, badges, a calendar heatmap, money reclaimed as a projection chart. The Climb tab shows what you're building, day by day, at a scale that makes the effort visible and worth continuing.
Why Harness?
Most sobriety apps treat a relapse as failure. Harness treats it as data. It is a recovery tool before it is a counter, which means it stays in your corner whether today is day 1 or day 347.
Urge surfing, grounding, trigger awareness and the shame-free reset are drawn from CBT and SMART Recovery. Not invented, just made available in the moment you need them.
Harness holds some of the most personal data you'll ever record. It never leaves your phone. Harness runs without an account and talks to no server at all.

Good to know
Yes. Steady, the urge tool, is free forever. Gating help in a hard moment would be wrong, so it never goes behind a paywall. No catch.
Harness works for alcohol, nicotine, porn, cannabis, sugar, gambling, doomscrolling, or anything else you're trying to quit or cut back. You define your own vice.
No. Harness is local-first. Your logs, patterns, and clean time live on your device. No account is required, nothing is sent to a server, and no one at Clearpoint Studios can see your data.
You tap reset and Harness walks you through a calm, non-judgmental debrief (AI-assisted in Pro). It logs the context without blame, and you start again. A relapse doesn't erase your history - it becomes part of it.
Pro adds the AI layers (urge coach, pattern insights, AI relapse debrief), multi-vice tracking, a custom toolkit editor, the health-recovery timeline, shareable progress cards, and encrypted sync. The core app - including Steady - is free.
No. Harness is a personal tool, not a clinical treatment. If you're dealing with a serious dependency, please also talk to a doctor or a counsellor. Harness is something to have alongside that, not instead of it.
Yes. Everything runs on your device. The only optional online feature is the AI coach in Pro (which requires a connection to run the model).
Most sobriety apps are streak counters - they make you feel like a failure when you slip. Harness is built on the opposite premise: relapse is part of recovery, and a tool should support you through it, not punish you for it.
