Privacy Policy

Harness is a sobriety and vice tracker built by Clearpoint Studios. This policy explains what data Harness collects, where it lives, and who can see it. The short version: your data stays on your device, always.

What Harness stores locally

Harness stores the following information on your device only:

• Your clean time start date and any reset timestamps
• Urge logs: time, trigger, mood, intensity, and optional notes you enter
• Vice settings (what you're tracking, your cost-per-unit if set)
• Coping toolkit customization (your reasons, your emergency plan, buddy contact)
• Milestone and badge state
• Pro purchase status (verified locally via the payment platform)
• App settings (reminders, app lock PIN/biometrics, discreet icon preference)

None of this data is transmitted to Clearpoint Studios or any third party. It exists only on the device where you installed Harness.

No analytics, no crash reporting

Harness does not include any analytics SDK, crash reporter, or telemetry that sends data off your device. We do not know how you use the app, how often you open it, or what features you tap.

AI features (Pro only)

If you use the AI coach, AI pattern read, or AI relapse debrief in Harness Pro, those features send a limited context to an AI provider in order to generate a response. This context may include the nature of your query (for example, "I'm having a craving") and relevant session information. The AI provider processes this data under their own privacy policy. These features require an active internet connection and are only used when you explicitly trigger them - Harness never sends data to the AI provider in the background.

The AI provider is not given your full history, your vice logs, or any personally identifying information beyond what you type or confirm in the moment.

App lock

Harness supports a PIN lock and biometric lock (fingerprint / face unlock). These are handled entirely by your device's operating system. Clearpoint Studios does not have access to your PIN or biometric data.

Discreet icon and name

Harness includes an option to display with a generic icon and name on your home screen for privacy. Enabling this changes only what appears on your launcher - it does not affect data storage or any other feature.

No advertising

Harness contains no advertising, no ad network SDKs, and no tracking for advertising purposes. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.

How to delete your data

Uninstalling Harness removes all locally stored data from your device. There is no server-side copy to delete because no data is ever sent to a server.

Children

Harness is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the Play Store release notes.
